OK … gas is expensive!

June 21st, 2005 | by mbhunter |

I hit my $30 fill-up over the weekend — $31.81 to be exact. With oil tempting sixty bucks a barrel, I may be looking at $40 fill-ups before I know it.

Even more reason to get a gas credit card if you can — like the Chase PerfectCard™, which is what I use all the time. Gas is actually a bit cheaper at Sheetz or WaWa than at even Costco when you factor in the 3% rebate ($2.00 – $0.06 per gallon vs. $1.97 per gallon). Other gas cards will give you a whopping 10% for the first three months, and usually only at one particular gas station. Some will give you 5%, but only for a certain amount of gas per week and only up to a certain amount per year. The Chase PerfectCard™ gives 3% back for purchases at any gas station. (And, I’ll give you a little secret … ssshhhhhh … it also gives 3% at some NON gas stations, too! Just don’t tell Chase!)

You can also check out GasBuddy.com to search for low gas prices in your area.
