An update to Johnny Miser #1

July 23rd, 2005 | by mbhunter |

Mr. McElvy has updated the first Johnny Miser strip already, and it’s barely 24 hours old. I told Charlie last night that no strip will ever be completely done. But that failed to stop him from updating this one. See if you can figure out what’s different with this one.

I’ll give you a hint: He added the 7Seas Tuna sign in the first pane.

I’m sure that you would have missed what Mr. Miser was buying if Charlie hadn’t added the sign.

And that would have been all right with me. Really. Honest.

No one would have given it a second thought, or wondered why Charlie decided to have Johnny Miser buying 224 cans of tuna fish.

Well, now you’ve done it, Charlie Mack. Thanks a lot, buddy! Now EVERYONE who reads this blog will know that I bought 224 cans of tuna when it was on sale, and EVERYONE will start asking me: “Well, you can’t tune a piano, but you sure can tuna fish, can’t ya John?”

Well, ya know what folks? OK, you beat it out of me. I confess. I’m a TUNA FISH MISER and I’m PROUD OF IT!!!! ALL the tuna in the WORLD belongs to ME!

MINE — ALL MINE!!! Hahahahahahahahahaha …..

Several long deep breaths later …

Here’s the modified cartoon. Enjoy!

    Anytime, pal. Anytime.

BTW – the 7Seas Tuna Fish name isn’t a registered trademark, yet. Any takers on starting up a tuna fish company?!
