New life for an old sock

August 28th, 2005 | by mbhunter |

A lot of my tube socks have seen better days. I tend to wear my socks and underwear into the ground (who sees them, after all?) but my better half draws the line a little bit newer than I do.

Well, just before a few socks were relegated to that big drawer of mismatched socks in the sky, one got a new lease on life — as a cover for a keyboard wrist gel support. (Maybe that’s not what it’s called — it’s the gel- or silicone-filled floppy thing that you put in front of the keyboard to rest your wrists on.)

The synthetic fabric cover was starting to come off, exposing the sticky silicone-like interior. We just put the entire thing in one of my socks with the heel almost worn out. It’s very comfy now, and it’s not sticky!

    Nice tip.
The SO may notice (in response to your rethoric question).

Said that… I do repair socks and underwear. I do repair it until it will not benefit from repair.
