Adding insult to injury

October 3rd, 2005 | by mbhunter |

I was checking out the CoinStar machine at Food Lion tonight. I checked to see if I could redeem my coins for Amazon.com gift certificates without the 8.9% surcharge. (I couldn’t.)

I also was looking to see if the last person to use the machine left any money behind. (They did. Twenty-two cents!)

So not only did they pay 89 cents for each $10 they put into the machine, they left money behind! Ouch!

    Hi,
I recently read in some other blog that credit unions have coin machines for free. There was also a national bank, don’t recall which, which had this service for free. Check it out or google it.
    good luck,
