We had never bought a dryer (we used the one that came with our house and I had renter before) so we thought it was a little strange that it didn't come with the power cord. The next day when I went back to get more ducting, I saw the cords for sale right there. Jane and Colleen, thanks for your comments!

That is an added expense when you buy a new dryer. The reason for this is that there are several different types of outlets that are available in homes for electric dryers. Just make sure that whenever you replace a dryer you take the cord off before getting rid of it.
