Excellent post on tithing

January 9th, 2006 | by mbhunter |

Tithing is the practice of giving 10% of one’s income. It is today usually associated with giving to one’s church.

About five years ago, when I started dating the woman who would be my wife, giving to the church was something I hadn’t done in a very long time. Giving as much of my income that I was obligated to give was very difficult for me. However, I’ve since recognized that everything I “own” is actually God’s and, as such, I’m only a steward of what is “mine” here. Tithing is many things, but for me it’s a reminder of God’s abundance in my life.

FMF at Free Money Finance has an excellent post on tithing. He speaks on a number of important questions about tithing and how it fits into the Christian Walk.
