A word about the Carnival of Debt Reduction
February 13th, 2006 | by mbhunter |Issue #22 is up at Retire at 30!
All of the hosts have done a great job with the carnival, and I’m pleased with how it’s turning out.
Having said that, I want to remind those who are submitting to the carnival that the Carnival of Debt Reduction is specifically about debt reduction — meaning that the posts should deal with advice on how to get out of debt or your personal experiences in getting out of debt.
Penny pinching ideas and general budgeting advice can indeed help someone get out of debt, but if they’re not put in that context, then they’re better put in the Festival of Frugality or the Carnival of Personal Finance. The past two hosts have been a lot more vigilant about checking the context of the posts and not including posts that don’t deal with debt reduction specifically.
And this is a good thing!
I never intended the Carnival of Debt Reduction to replace or infringe on the other finance carnivals, and it shouldn’t, because if the carnivals all start to lose their identity, all of them will suffer.
So, thank you all for your submissions to the Carnival of Debt Reduction, and I look forward to lots more debt-reduction-related posts in the future!
Next week, Journey to Financial Freedom hosts!

Never a problem — love the Festival!
I think keeping things on topic will benefit all the carnivals.
