Roundup for week of 27 February 2006
March 3rd, 2006 | by mbhunter |From the far corners of the keyboard fly some (but by no means all) of the outstanding money posts for the week:
- All Things Financial had a couple of posts on the new mega-payout TV show Deal or No Deal. This one is about greed. The comments also have some good links related to the show.
- Procrastinators beware: your tax preparation software will be more expensive after the first of April. Blueprint for Financial Prosperity has warned you!
- Consumerism Commentary reports on an article that outlines what you should do if you win the lottery. They omitted the last bullet: Give 50% of your winnings to the Mighty Bargain Hunter. (If you win, just send me an e-mail and I’ll give you the wire-transfer number.)
- Debt Hater has some choice words about just how bad credit cards can be.
- Continually educating yourself about investing will pay dividends, as Defying Debt is finding out.
- I’m pretty deficient at following through with rebates and can always use some more pointers for improving the chance that I get my rebate back. Thanks to Free Money Finance for the extra tips.
- Maybe I’m just a scaredycat about burning out my engine but apparently people get by just fine without changing their car’s oil so often. About a dozen thoughtful comments on this Five Cent Nickel article.
- No Credit Needed scored a great deal at the supermarket — AND he’ll be free of static cling until the next ice age. (Also, he was interviewed at the Money Blogger Podcast this week!)
Also, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention the tremendous giveaway at the Money Blog Network. Entering is as easy as rubbing two cents together. Actually, it’s even easier than that. Check it out!
