One place I don’t mind splurging

After church on Sunday we drove past a garage sale.  It was the tail end of it, so the sellers were packing the stuff up.

They have a 2-year-old daughter and were selling some of her clothes.  (The 2-year-old, not really understanding what was going on, kept taking her stuff back — especially her Dora the Explorer shoes — and saying “Mine!”)  Our daughter is 14 months old, so she was just growing into some of the 18-month clothes that the other girl just grew out of.

I don’t really mind splurging when you can stuff a bag full of toddler clothes and shoes for $5.00.  You can be a little bit less picky when you’re getting things for pennies on the dollar.

This is not to say that you buy things that you don’t need just because they’re cheap.  But if you do kinda-sorta need it, it’s a lot easier to justify getting it at a garage sale.

Have you been to any garage/tag/rummage/yard sales that just seemed to be suited perfectly for you?
