Amazon’s into groceries now!
June 17th, 2006 | by mbhunter |This is pretty cool — Amazon Grocery Beta is up and running. Buy non-perishables just like any other Amazon purchase.
The prices didn’t look bad. I think the real draw of this will be the organic/health foods section and the other specialty products. Amazon is selling some pretty specialized items from well-established but smaller producers. You can get Tide or Special K almost anywhere, but Green Mountain Coffee? Not quite as easy to come by, especially the flavored blends.
The benefit is that these orders qualify for Super Saver Shipping and fall under Amazon Prime as well. They also have coupons.
Definitely worth a check-out!

Mixing this with Amazon Prime could yield some interesting results.

This seems really cool, especially if they offer free shipping, because you don’t have to pay sales tax for it in most places.

It’s intriguing for some of the harder-to-find stuff. It would be really cool if they could take manufacturers’ coupons, but that’s probably asking too much!
The Super-Saver and Amazon Prime shipping options aren’t free but they’re reasonable. Amazon Prime is all you can eat for a year.
