Yard sale finds for today

August 27th, 2006 | by mbhunter |

(Actually yesterday, but who’s counting?)

There are advantages to coming to yard sales early, and advantages to coming late. We’re usually taking advantage of the late ones :)
If you’re an early bird you usually get the best selection of stuff. If you’re late, you can get really good deals on what’s left, because the people selling do not want to take all of the things back inside.

The women running a yard sale that we stopped at in town today were piling on free stuff. One of the women was trying desperately to give our 19-month-old daughter a stuffed animal (they had a few left). We ended up getting a lot of nice clothes, a Little Tikes storage box, a princess/prince toddler scooter thing, plus some extra things, all for $15. The Little Tikes storage box by itself is $60 new.

So you can be a sleep-in-late bird and still catch a few worms.
