Funny error coin auction

This is a pretty cheap way to vent for the amount of attention you get.

The scenario: Person buys what is thought to be an “missing edge lettering” Washington $1 coin. Turns out the edge lettering was only missing after the edge was defaced with a Dremel and/or sandpaper. Not exactly what was expected.

So he — I assume it’s a guy — does what anyone should do after getting duped: Try to sell the coin as “1 of 1″ error for $76,000, the proceeds of which will be used to buy a car to hunt the original seller down so that he can, one could assume, sandpaper some sense into him.

The method of manufacture is “US Mint / Dremel.” At least this guy has a sense of humor through it all.
