Eight random things about mbhunter
July 10th, 2007 | by mbhunter |I almost missed getting tagged for this one by FCN. I accidentally marked all of the new posts in Bloglines as read — for all 70+ feeds I check out regularly! — while I was on FCN. I refreshed Nickel’s feed because I didn’t want to miss all of the interesting posts he had written recently, and lo and behold, in one fell swoop, he tagged me for the meme, he insinuated that I’m a less than regular reader of his blog, and he called me names. Some thanks for sending his blog a decent amount of traffic during the past four weeks.
So, despite this backhanded tag, here are eight random things about myself:
- I have a beautiful wife of over five years, and a darling two-and-a-half-year-old daughter.
- I’ve played piano and trumpet since I was eight years old.
- I have a degree in Physics but I pretend to be a computer programmer. No one at work has found out yet.
- My right foot is two sizes smaller than my left. I’ve had three operations on my right foot.
- I drink lots of coffee. I have a picture of my coffee mug on my coffee mug. (Well, not really. But wouldn’t that be cool?)
- I enjoy playing pool, air hockey, and horseshoes. But not all at the same time.
- I brewed my own beer once and it tasted like really bad hard cider.
- I’ve met Nickel in person and found him to be full of great ideas and more than willing to share what he knows about running a successful blog.
If you’re reading this, and you maintain a blog, and you haven’t written a post describing eight random facts about yourself, consider yourself tagged!

Good stuff. A musical physicist (or a phsyical musicist?). Who woulda thunk it? As for pool, air hockey, and horseshoes… Those *would* be tought to play all at once. But something you might be able to cook something up by combining, for example, pool and foosball.

Hey, thanks for tagging me! Haha.
I think I have some kind of personal brewing kit laying around my house somewhere, I wonder if I should try it out.

Aha! Yet another computer programmer. I have this in common with you. I live in a computer programmer’s den (both my husband and I are in the field). My in-laws are both physicists. One sends experiments up into outer space (well on some occasions there’s been a shuttle launch.) Fun? You can imagine what it’s like when we have a family affair.
