Roundup for week of 8 July 2007: Desert Heat Edition

I mentioned last week that I was out to the West for some travel.   The temperatures were below 110 (usually low hundreds) and the humidity was really low most of those days.  Some days it actually felt cooler than back home in VA with its much higher humidity.
