How do you keep up on financial news?
September 21st, 2007 | by mbhunter |If you read this blog and others like it, odds are that you have more than just a passing interest in financial news. I keep up with financial news mostly online. Here’s where I usually poke around when I’m on break at work:
- MSN.com. The money section (on the right side) has a good rotation of articles ranging from mainstream media articles to commentary.
- IWon.com. I’m in the process of moving over to the sister site, MyWay.com, because it doesn’t kill you with ads (the only reason I stayed with IWon so long is because of inertia). You can customize pages on IWon and MyWay after signing up for a free account. The main part I use this site for is the targeted headlines — sector news, like Paper and Forestry, Energy, Mining and Metals, Financial, Business, etc. It also has a module that does a good job of tracking your portfolio or other equities you might be watching.
- IGoogle.com. If I can replace the headline functionality that I get in IWon/MyWay I’ll probably visit this one a lot more often. The one gem I found here recently was the Commodities Market gadget. I have the prices of crude oil, gasoline, gold, silver, copper, and zinc loaded in, and there are a dozen others. I also enjoy the Sector Summary gadget. Forex Quotes might also be interesting to look at as the dollar keeps moving. There are lots more financial gadgets available. You can even slap my feed up there if you want!
- Bloglines.com. Where all of my finance feeds reside.
How do you keep up with what’s going on in finance?

I just have news feeds through Firefox’s menu bar.
