Roundup for week of 23 September 2007: Plumbing fixtures edition
October 1st, 2007 | by mbhunter |Here are links of interest from the folks in the MBN and other blogs in my reader:
- All Financial Matters gives a sneak peek at the 2008 tax brackets.
- Blueprint for Financial Prosperity dishes out eight personal finance lessons he learned from Monopoly. (This is a cool post.)
- Consumerism Commentary has a lengthy review of Mint.com. (And a slick new site design as well — his best yet in my humble opinion.)
- Five Cent Nickel discusses Alan Greenspan’s book entitled The Age of Turbulence: Adventures in a New World.
- No Credit Needed continues to persevere with his 33-day series; this week it’s an illustrated debt snowball.
- Get Rich Slowly uses Quicken to analyze and correct bad spending habits. (My business partner would likely appreciate his taste in comics, though.)
- Free Money Finance suggests asking for more money when you’re offered a job.
- Lazy Man and Money defends the double cheeseburger.
- Money Smart Life dishes up six ingredients for generating passive income.
- Money, Matter, and More Musings discusses and compares high-yield savings accounts.
- The Digerati Life has a picture of half a car in one post. (This reminds me of an experience I had in Big Lots. There was a holiday coffee mug package that was half price because half of the mugs in it were broken. Not exactly the kind of deal that gets my heart going a-pitter-patter.)
- The Sun’s Financial Diary reminds us to re-register on the Do-Not-Call list.
- Generation X Finance discusses the UAW strike.
- Pro Bargain Hunter suggests hiding your money from yourself.
- A Penny Closer reveals a downside to debt consolidation loans.
- Blogging Away Debt smallified her living area.
- The Frugal Duchess notes that Goodwill is getting into the online auction arena.
- Frugal For Life discusses coupons, stamps, and paychecks.
- Poorer Than You wonders if her frugal lifestyle is making her miserable.
Enjoy!

Thank you very much for the link!
I love the Big Lots story you have here! That place can just be downright strange. Made me laugh because I can totally see that kind of deal there.

Yeah, the big lots story reminds me of a line from “Saved By The Bell”
Kelly:Yeah, I could go buy a swimsuit there, they’re selling them for half off.”
Screech:”Which half are you gonna buy???”
