Sorry to disappoint if you were looking for a “usually young woman of loose morals” which is the proper definition of floozy, but in a strange twist of frugal felicity I’ve been pegged as a Fellow Floozy by the Thrift Store Whore. I admit that I brake pretty hard for thrift stores and pawn shops, but I’m not a floozy. (I’m neither young nor a woman.)
Anyway enough red-light-district banter and on with links of interest from the folks at the Money Blog Network and others in my reader:
- Consumerism Commentary has a series on putting your savings in hyperdrive, and this part deals with keeping your change.
- Five Cent Nickel runs through some things that were expensive but totally worth the money nonetheless.
- No Credit Needed is polling on whether people have a written budget or not. (I’d go even further and say that it’s not a budget unless it’s written down.)
- Get Rich Slowly talked with his barber about money.
- Free Money Finance is paid to be scared.
- All Financial Matters explain how to reduce your portfolio’s volatility so that you’re less scared.
- Wise Bread posts some good tips on dealing with inflation.
- The Sun’s Financial Diary comments on the rising capital gains distributions in exchange-traded funds.
- Generation X Finance thinks that a 401(k) debt card is one of the worst ideas ever.
- Lazy Man and Money discusses sudden expenses.
- The Digerati Life explains how to manage your relocation costs and how not to move a piano.
- Money Smart Life describes many of the caveats of claiming a home office deduction.
Enjoy!
