I've known people who've flirted with the line between the two. My grandmother loves to buy random crap because it's on sale. And to give it to us, even if we have no need for it. What's worse is that she also has a hard time parting with her own random crap. Fortunately, she's not as much of a pack rat as some people...not with the giant stacks of newspapers and such. I think seeing that has discouraged me from bargain hunting. And worried me that I've got some of the same impulses. Forewarned is good indeed.
