MyPoints giving points for eBay purchases again
February 22nd, 2008 | by mbhunter |This deal comes and goes but this time it looks like it’s around until March 7th, according to the MyPoints e-mail I received today. Qualifying purchases on eBay will earn 2 points per dollar if you’ve joined MyPoints and click through to eBay from inside your MyPoins account.
MyPoints is a rewards program that lets you earn free gift cards by reading e-mails, visiting websites, participating in short surveys, and purchasing through selected retailers. They don’t deluge you with mail (a few a day at the most, and you can easily ship these to a folder in your inbox), and the cards have come quickly the whole time I’ve used them. It’s possible to get the free gift cards without ever purchasing anything through them.
Usually there is a flat sign-up bonus (100 points or so) for joining eBay, but that’s on hold right now. Since my wife and I do a lot of purchasing on eBay, I always check first to see if MyPoints is offering points for purchases before I bid or Buy It Now.
One more thing: If you’ve been reluctant to sign up for eBay because you’re worried about getting taken, it will soon be easier for you as a buyer to talk honestly about your experience with a seller. There are big changes to the eBay feedback system that are generally favorable for buyers, so it should be safer than ever to buy through eBay.
So take a minute now to join MyPoints and take advantage of the eBay point bonus!
