Today I attended my Lions Club’s student music competition. It’s always fun to listen to these. Always a lot of hard work going into these competitions. I hope that these kids continue with the music and keep their hands in it; music is one thing that can bring joy to life regardless of how rough things get. Most churches at least have a piano.
Here are links of interest from the MBN and other great blogs in my reader:
- Free Money Finance shares his thoughts about where he thinks the stock market is headed this year.
- All Financial Matters questions whether debt at 0% is really debt.
- Consumerism Commentary has a guest post on the argument against mortgage prepayment.
- Wise Bread serves up six horrible financial products that you should avoid.
- Five Cent Nickel explains one way to crunch numbers to see if early retirement is in the cards.
- No Credit Needed realized that sometimes you just need to take a day off and go golfing. (I went bowling this past weekend. Watching my 3 year old push the bowling ball down the slide to knock the pins down was great.)
- Get Rich Slowly interviewed Alan Shepard, author of Scratch Beginnings.
- Lazy Man and Money had a “tax the unhealthy” series.
- The Digerati Life gives a nice post with a bunch of useful free finance tools.
- The Sun’s Financial Diary is observing gold’s rise.
- Money Smart Life comments on the changes ongoing at eBay.
- Generation X Finance has a guest post on some volatility busting option strategies.
- Being Frugal correctly decries the $1,100 stroller.
- Bible Money Matters asks if you have any money secrets.
- Cash Money Life addresses guarantees and P2P loans.
Thanks to The Financial Blogger for including my budget article in last week’s Carnival of Personal Finance!
Enjoy!

I played violin for 14 years growing up, and we played at a lot of competitions/recitals. For some reason I dreaded the recitals.
thanks for the mention in your roundup, I appreciate it!
