Our refund and stimulus payment are in our account. Now what?

May 16th, 2008 | by mbhunter |

We received our $1,500 economic stimulus payment and our federal tax refund within the past week or so: about $2,100 total.

What are we going to do with it? Well, two months ago we planned for our refund and rebate and $1,700 will be transferred to our ING account to build up our emergency fund. Done.

Many Americans have their money back now. Maybe you’ve gotten yours.

Have you planned for what you’re going to do with this windfall? If you have, that’s great! If you haven’t set aside a purpose for this money and you either haven’t gotten it yet or you still have it, then there’s still time to think about that purpose and write it down. Please do this. Otherwise, the chances are good that the money will just evaporate.

The link above has a few ideas, and here are a few more wise uses for your $600 if you’re stuck.
