Link roundup: Rat snake edition

July 11th, 2008 | by mbhunter |

My wife is the snake-killer in our family. At one point we had over a dozen baby copperheads nesting under the ramp in our shed. My wife, the quick thinker, torched about two-thirds of them, and we got rid of the rest of them one by one.

Well, she recently saw another snake that looks like a copperhead but is not poisonous. She killed this baby rat snake and wished she hadn’t, because they are good snakes to have around. The main difference is that baby copperheads have a lemon-yellow tail while the baby rat snakes do not.

Now let’s slide on to this week’s roundup with posts from the MBN and other blogs in my reader:

Have a great weekend!

Kudos to your wife for taking care of the snakes. I cannot deal with snakes no matter the size or kind. They totally freak me out!
