Link roundup: Quilt’s almost done edition
July 20th, 2008 | by mbhunter |I’ve mentioned before off and on that my wife is an excellent quilter. She blogs about blocks here and we have a few of her patterns up on eBay. She’s been working on her first contest entry for a couple of months now, and she’ll submit it on Monday. I’ve seen her work on it every night for a while and it’s great to see how her efforts have taken form.
Here are links of interest from the MBN and other blogs in my reader:
- Consumerism Commentary suggests not comparing yourself to others with regard to net worth. (It’s largely a race against yourself; no one else’s net worth really matters nearly as much.)
- Five Cent Nickel talks about BankRate’s Safe & Sound ratings for financial condition. (I think the bottom line is that if you have well under $100,000 in your account, you’re fine regardless of where your money is.)
- Free Money Finance is all for de-junking.
- Get Rich Slowly has risen to the occasion when it comes to baking bread. (My mother in law — and my wife — both have this art mastered and I can tell you there’s no comparison to good, freshly-baked bread.)
- No Credit Needed, fresh back from camp this evening, wrote the second post in his bills-in-a-box series.
- Wise Bread turns down free money because the risk just isn’t worth the reward.
- All Financial Matters advises not cashing out your 401(k) before the appointed time. (More Americans are doing this and it’s a costly way to meet expenses.)
- Digerati Life discusses credit reports and who uses them.
- Generation X Finance polls his readers as to when the market is going to recover.
- Money Smart Life interprets the wealth wisdom of Kung Fu Panda.
- Sun’s Financial Diary reveals some investments you might want to catch wind of.
- Blueprint for Financial Prosperity runs down the best places to sell your stuff.
- Cash Money Life reminds us not to underestimate the little things.
- Not Made of Money introduces the Frugal Blog Network.
Also a big thank-you to The Budgeting Babe for including my airline walletectomy article in this week’s Carnival of Personal Finance!
Have a great rest of the weekend!
