Link roundup: Soon-to-be-drenched edition

We’re back from New York, and planning for a lot of rain in Virginia from Tropical Storm Hanna.
First off, a big thank-you to Smart Spending for linking to my article on evaluating kids’ extracurricular activites!
Here are links of interest from the MBN and other blogs in my reader:
- No Credit Needed serves up a spreadsheet for calculating average daily balance.
- Five Cent Nickel shares his tips for selling on eBay.
- Consumerism Commentary lost $700 worth of stuff but didn’t lose the lesson.
- All Financial Matters is feeling the draft from the grocery shrink ray. (And less of a workout from an 11.2-ounce curl.)
- Wise Bread talks about family business.
- Free Money Finance asks how much a date costs. (It’s well known FMF is a very cheap date. One bowl of Moose Tracks and he’s under the table.)
- Get Rich Slowly passes on five basic credit card skills. (Master these and most other things will fall into place.)
- Mrs. Micah thinks that ING Electric Orange checking accounts are a bad idea. (If you don’t agree, you may sign up here for a $25 ING bonus, though.
) - Frugal Upstate says that her kids look forward to pizza day.
- Green Panda Treehouse discusses which bills to pay first if money is really, really tight.
Mighty Bargain Hunter participated in two carnivals this week:
- One Caveman’s Financial Journey included my kids’ extracurricular activities post in this week’s Carnival of Personal Finance
- Funny about Money included my wild pizza oats post in this week’s Carnival of Money Stories
Have a great weekend, and stay dry!

Thanks for the mention MBH! I feel bad for those who are doing the right things and still have a hard time keeping the budget afloat.

Lol, I do love my Electric Orange account. But I also don’t plan to put enough in it to earn the higher interest.
