Welcome to the Finance Fiesta, buzzer-beater edition
September 25th, 2008 | by mbhunter |(70 minutes left until Thursday’s over) Hi, everyone! Welcome to this week’s Finance Fiesta! It’s always a festive time, with fantastic financial fun for all. Without further frolicking, here are this week’s fine posts:
- (69 minutes) Surfer Sam gives a good description of many aspects of mortgage loans.
- (66 minutes) College Finance 101 doesn’t mince words and says that a bad credit score can ruin you. (At least for a good long time.)
- (64 minutes) Free Money Finance shares three tips to getting a raise. (No, washing the CEO’s car isn’t one of them.)
- (61 minutes) Blueprint for Financial Prosperity puts forth six money lessons from Entourage, a great show that I don’t watch because I don’t get HBO. (And nice logo BTW Jim — though that contractor is pretty cheap to have blueprint paper so thin that you can see the dollar sign through it.)
- (59 minutes) Budgets Are Sexy questions whether $100 wedding gifts are all that. (For the bride and groom, yes.)
- (56 minutes) Living Almost Large wonders if the market’s gyrations have you running scared yet.
- (54 minutes) Actorlicious (ha!) can stretch the dollar ten different ways during these trying times.
- (52 minutes) Cash Money Life reviews the economics and impacts of bottled water and concludes that it’s not liquid evil, despite the bad reputation it has.
- (50 minutes) Passive Family Income lists five really good ways to profit in tough financial times. (Having multiple income streams is key. Besides staying off of the short list to be fired, getting a side business going is one of the best things you can do to secure your financial future.)
- (47 minutes) Taking Charge ruminates on the 50th anniversary of the credit card. (For bonus points, what was the first credit card issued?)
- (45 minutes) My Simple Trading System discusses the unbubble. (Kinda like the uncola, but not nearly as refreshing.)
- (43 minutes) Art of the Coupon shares a nice story about why they’re glad they’ve had some financial struggles. (A+)
- (40 minutes) Digerati Life talks about the bestest cash back rewards with extra cash back sprinkled on top credit card.
- (36 minutes) The Smarter Wallet shows how to save money with generic drugs. (We do this every chance we can.)
- (34 minutes) Tough Money Love reveals this week’s biggest loser: the free market. (Amen!)
- (31 minutes) Military Money Might (another great title — makes Mighty Bargain Hunter look lamer and lamer) observes the cent’s worthlessness.
- (28 minutes) Personal Finance Analyst comments in the wake of big financial firm funeral services. (Wake … funeral … HA!! Get it?)
- (25 minutes) Retired at 47 talks about achieving early retirement despite big money mistakes. (This blogger speaks from experience.)
- (22 minutes) Indian Realty News dishes on Goldman-Sachs.
- (20 minutes) Think Your Way to Wealth assures us that living one step away from financial disaster isn’t “living on the edge.” (It’s terrifying, but it’s reality for many.)
- (18 minutes) Fix My Personal Finance shares six tips for dealing with your stock broker. (He says “five tips” in the title, but he’s lying.)
- (14 minutes) Our Fourpence Worth has an interesting income tax variant of Monopoly. (Anything but that stupid Free Parking bonanza! That one’s just wrong!)
(9 minutes left) Well hey, thanks for sticking through to the end of this week’s Finance Fiesta! According to the schedule we have Get Rich or Die Trying on the block to host. Have a great weekgottapostthisbeforemidnightbye!

Right on Sam … you shouldn’t short-change your posts like that. Or maybe you were just delighting your customers and I should’ve just shut up.

Thanks for including my post and for hosting!
But I like the Free Parking Bonanza. It’s like winning the lottery.
