Costco TrueEarnings Business Card being discontinued soon

November 11th, 2008 | by mbhunter |

Aww man, no sooner do I post about Costco credit cards like the TrueEarnings® Business Card from Costco and American Express then I hear that the offer is being discontinued!  Bummer.

So if you were thinking about getting 5% off the cheapest gasoline in town, you’ll need to apply before this Friday, November 14th, 2008. Sorry about that!

The non-business TrueEarnings® Card from Costco and American Express, as far as I know, is still being offered.  That still gives you 3% off of qualifying gas.

I have the personal (non-business) version and it has been a solid cash back program. Hopefully they don’t discontinue that one as well.

Where did you find this information? I have this card and love it. I checked their site along with a google search and can’t find any information on the card being discontinued. Thanks.

OK, thanks for pointing out that my wording is vague.

What I was told is that I’m not supposed to promote the business card because this and ten other American Express cards “will be removed on Friday.” This doesn’t imply that your card will be cancelled, but I don’t know for sure.

They may keep the business card around for a while for current cardholders, but it looks like new customers won’t be able to get the business card after Thursday.

I haven’t gotten any notice that the non-business card is being “removed.”

This doesn’t answer your questions completely but I hope it clarifies. Thanks!
