Some personal finance aggregators worth a look

April 25th, 2009 | by mbhunter |

If you follow money-related blogs at all, you’ve probably organized your favorite RSS feeds in a feed reader like Google Reader or Bloglines. Google Reader suggests new feeds you might like, but what about checking out a lot of feeds – some of which may be new to you – all in one place?

Here are some aggregators with a leaning toward personal finance that can give you some new sites to check out:

PFBlogs.org is the granddaddy of PF blog aggregators. Started and maintained by Flexo over at Consumerism Commentary, PFBlogs.org has grown to include well over 1,000 feeds from topics of investing, real estate, and personal finance.  Popular articles, determined by outbound clicks from the site, get exposure through separate feeds on the site and on other sites that carry it.  Joining PFBlogs.org is free, and there is a low-cost opportunity to become a friend of PFBlogs.org for some additional exposure on the site.

AllTop.com has changed quite a bit since I was first made aware of it.  It has evolved from being a number of categorized pages of feeds to a customizable feed portal from which the feeds are searchable by keyword.  Sign-up is free for an AllTop account, as is requesting that your feed be included in the mix.

GreatNexus is a newcomer, started up by Pinyo over at Moolanomy and has a neat mix of content. In addition to a growing list of personal finance blog feeds, there are feeds of popular postings from PFBlogs, Tip’d, and Personal Finance Buzz, feeds from popular financial forums, and links to recent videos on YouTube Finance. GreatNexus still has some surprises in store, I’m sure.

I woke up to a nice surprise today — thank you for mentioning Greatnexus. I am going to continue to add content to it and hopefully everyone find it interesting enough to stop by at least once a day. Thanks again!

I didn’t know Flexo ran PFblogs – I have always gotten a decent amount of traffic from it, in fact I get a little bit from Pinyo’s and Alltop too…
