Carpet is comfortable in the bedrooms and for older folks. We've got some Brazilian Cherry wood floors in our house which are sweet. Laminate is a great way to go to save money. When they first put it down and the dogs didn't know what is was they'd come running in the house and then slide from one end of the room to the other.
