Black Friday — a day of full-contact shopping that is becoming nearly as traditional as Thanksgiving — is only two weeks away. I have to smile when I hear about Black Friday circulars being “leaked.” Unless leak has come to mean deliberately advertise over the past few years, it’s nothing but marketing strategy to leak Black Friday deals. With consumer dollars as tight as they are, it’s almost necessary for stores to tip their hands in advance before the big day. People want to plan which store they’re going to sit outside of all night. I mean, are people going to wait outside of (let’s say) Best Buy if they don’t have some reason to? I’d hope not.
